Have you already received your annual assessment? Or did you make them for your team members?
I will not do anything this year (which makes a difference) but I will sit and think well well what I want to produce from 2022. This year has been a bit boring. Between getting a cube, homeschooling bouts, having to cut back on my work hours to fit in with school, and seemingly endless school vacations, it feels like I could barely do a job at all.
And I had big plans, fun plans for my business and some cool projects I wanted to do. Literally anything that was not contractually required or keeping the lights on was not performed.
Last year I wrote, “The only way to get what you want is to plan it. So follow the plan.”
Lol. Like it worked.
So next year, I’m taking personal planning with a pinch of salt. Is this going to be another year of ‘maintenance’? I really hope not, and I know that at least having a few goals will help me make decisions about how to spend the limited time I get.
What about you? This is a good time to think about what you want to produce from 2022. Is it training? Is it a promotion? More visibility at work? “Better” projects, what does this mean for you?
To help you think about what you can achieve next year, and to help you stay on track, download My Career Planner for 2022 for free.
You know that if you want to achieve something, you have to plan it, even if you know that real life may look a little different. So if you want 2022 to be a great year for you, career-wise, take some time to think about what those goals might be and how you are going to get there.
Damn, even if you do not care so much big Year and just want 2022 not to be terrible, think about what it might look like and how you are going to do it.
I remember my goals to get through the year when we were parents for two years under two were pretty low. So do not think that career planning only applies if you have high ambitions like getting your PMP (R) certification or enrolling in an MBA!
